How To Unlock Breaking Brick Mountains
Speak with Havak Alvak of the Mythril Eye in Ul’dah - Steps of Nald (X:12.1, Y:8.2) to begin the event.
The quest sends players after strange golems appearing around Eorzea. You will need to participate in the event FATEs, then return to finish the quest and check the event vendor.
Important notes:
- Seasonal quests cannot be completed after the event ends.
- This is the same crossover event that appeared in 2014, 2017, 2020, 2021, and 2024.
- If you made progress during a previous run, check your Journal. You may be able to continue from where you left off.
Event Rewards
During the event, players can purchase rewards from the Toughie in Ul’dah - Steps of Nald (X:8, Y:12).
The Lodestone calls out these purchasable event items:
| Reward | Type | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| King Slime Crown | Head glamour | Returning Dragon Quest crossover cosmetic |
| Dragon Quest X Framer’s Kit | Adventurer plate/framer’s kit | New headline reward for this rerun |
Check the Toughie vendor before the event ends, especially if you completed a previous version of Breaking Brick Mountains and only need the newer reward.
Quest And FATE Flow
- Pick up the event quest from Havak Alvak in Ul’dah.
- Travel to one of the listed FATE zones.
- Complete Brick by Stone Brick or Brick by Gold Brick when it appears.
- Return to the event questline and claim/confirm your rewards.
- Visit the Toughie vendor in Ul’dah for purchasable event items.
You do not need to camp only one location. If one zone is quiet, rotate through the FATE locations below.
FATE Locations
The event FATEs Brick by Stone Brick and Brick by Gold Brick can appear in these areas:
| Zone | Area | Coordinates |
|---|---|---|
| Central Thanalan | Sil’dih Excavation Site | X:18.0, Y:23.5 |
| Lower La Noscea | Blind Iron Mines | X:27.0, Y:17.3 |
| Upper La Noscea | Camp Bronze Lake | X:34.1, Y:24.1 |
| Central Shroud | Bentbranch Meadows | X:23.6, Y:23.9 |
| North Shroud | Finders’ Bluff | X:15.8, Y:31.0 |
For the fastest clear, pick the location with the most players nearby. Seasonal FATEs usually move quickly on launch day, and a busy zone makes credit much easier.
Seasonal Event Replay
If you already completed Breaking Brick Mountains in a previous year, speak with Havak Alvak to use the Seasonal Event Replay feature.
Replay notes:
- Seasonal Event Replay lets eligible players run the event story again.
- You cannot obtain rewards by using Seasonal Event Replay.
- Journal entries will show the quests as complete even if you choose to replay them.
If your only goal is the 2026 Framer’s Kit, check the Toughie vendor first.
Is The Event Worth Doing?
Yes. Breaking Brick Mountains is short, seasonal, and reward-driven. Even if you are focused on relics or patch prep, it is worth completing once so you do not miss the Dragon Quest X Framer’s Kit or any returning cosmetics you still need.
